About My Psychotherapy Practice

Find the Support You Need for Your Mental Health

My training began when I undertook my undergraduate studies in Psychology in 2004 in Dublin Business School. I completed my Masters of Science in Health Psychology in Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom in 2011. I received my BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy from Munster Technical University in 2021.

I have over twenty years of experience in a variety of roles supporting people with their mental well-being in both clinical and non-clinical settings. In my private practice, I meet clients who are seeking to work on a variety of issues such as anxiety and depression, trauma, relationship challenges and self-esteem. I have worked extensively with individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their extended families and support networks. I have specialised in supporting clients who have received a cancer diagnosis, are adjusting to life after treatment or are experiencing bereavement and loss. In each of these roles, I have collaborated with people to help them affect change and growth in their lives. Bearing witness to that healing is a privilege, and it fills me with passion for the work that I do.

I am, first and foremost, a Person-Centred Therapist, meaning that my focus is always on building a nurturing, empathetic relationship with you by listening to your story with openness and unconditional positive regard. However, I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and have studied numerous therapy styles so I can therefore draw on a wide range of theoretical approaches. These include Gestalt, Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, Polyvagal Theory, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing  (EMDR), Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems. I recognise your uniqueness and will work with you using the approach that best fits your needs to achieve the goals that you have identified. I believe that you already have the answers. My role is to facilitate you to discover them and to then implement them in your life.
